Valentines Sun Catchers

Yesterday Junior and I made Valentine sun catchers. Actually Junior loves making sun catchers for every holiday and decorating the window.
These are very simple and you can cut them into whatever shape you want.

All you need is some clear contact paper and some construction paper(colored tissue paper actually works best but we were all out).
I cut some strips of contact paper, make sure it is at least twice the size of the shape you are making because you will need to fold it in half.
Before we started I cut a bunch of little squares in red, purple, and pink colors. We have also done this by having Junior tear little pieces of paper, which he really enjoys.
Peel the backing off the contact paper and lay it sticky side up. Sprinkle the little squares of paper on top. Junior also likes to stop and feel the sticky contact paper.
Then fold the contact paper in half so the paper is sealed in between the two layers. Draw or trace the shape you want to make and then cut it out.
Punch a hole near the top of each one and use a small suction cup to hang in on the window.
We have made these in all different shapes. From apples for the fall, to candy canes and christmas trees, stars and flags. You can also do several colors on each one.
Junior loves to look at his sun catchers during his postural drainage time.
