Adaptions 4 Kidz: "Can't Live Without" - Junior's Turn

Well it has taken me awhile to get time to get this second post done but finally I got to it.

Some of Junior's can't live without items are more the fun/recreational things as well as comfort items.

One of his favorite things and something that gets used quite a lot is his bowling/basketball ramp.

Just a few days ago we posted about the golf set we recently made and it was such a huge hit with him that I am going to include it in this list(even though it has only been used a few times). It could actually be used for a mini bowling "tube/ramp" as well. HERE is the link to how we made that and HERE is part 2 showing him actually using it.

There are a few items on Junior's list that I may have already posted about in my "can't live without" list but I will go ahead and put them on his lists as well.
Another thing would have to be his adjustable tray.
He has been using this for several years and being made out of pvc allows us to extend the back leg so it works in his bed or chair but also in his stander. I can be set up at any angle so he can see what he is working on.

In the picture above Junior is using the arm slings while coloring and those would definitely fit into Junior's "can't live without" items. Here is the link for the post about those and a second post about them. In the posts I made them using the thin elastic but they have since been remade with the wider elastic which is shown in the above picture. The wider elastic works better for Junior. In this picture Junior is using the slings while doing a school activity(I think we were cooking something), these also have the fleece covers on them.

I know there are many other items Junior would consider "can't live without" but I will just add a few more to this post and save the rest of another time.
These next few things are more "comfort" items.

Junior's boppy pillow is something he has been using for over 10 years now. When he was little he would lay on his back on it but for the past few years it is his tummy time pillow. Any picture you see with him on his tummy the boppy is under him(usually you can't see it because it is covered with a blanket).

A few days ago his boppy had an accident and is no longer usable(lets just say boppy's cannot go in the washer). We found this during a trip to IKEA and Junior loves it, it is now his "big kid" boppy(or Junior has decided since it has eyes it is his alien pillow).

Two other "comfort" items or maybe I should say "comfortable" items are his adapted pants and Belly Buttons(tube pads). He loves his adapted pants and it lets him wear jeans or other "cool" pants and still be comfortable. The post about his adapted jeans is HERE . Here is a pic of the most recently adapted pants. One pair is before it was adapted the second is an adapted pair.

Another item which helps keep Junior comfortable but he also thinks is so very cool are his Belly Buttons. These are g-tube pads that go around his feeding tube. They keep it clean and clear and also come in lots of cool patterns. Junior loves picking out his Belly Button for the day.

it matches the patch on his t-shirt which allows us to access his feeding tube even when he is in his

back brace.

Lastly for this post this may not be something most people would think falls under "can't live without" but for Junior it is a must have. His Tubie monkey, this little critter is never far from his arms and goes along with him to all appointments. It is there to provide comfort when he isn't feeling well and even gets treatments with him.
