Falling Behind

Wow, I haven't posted here since July. Thinks have been crazy busy and we are beginning to settle into our new normal.  Junior had trach placement surgery mid August and there has been a lot to learn and adjust to.  Feel free to visit his regular blog to learn more about this new part of our journey.

There is a now a 16 year old in the house.


Tried making our own trach ties and he thinks they are cool.  Our design has changed a few times to get them just right but I really like how the final ones turned out.

 This is our final design after some changes.  With Junior's short neck it was too hard to fasten them in the back so I adjusted them so they fasten on the sides. 
These were the sets he got for his birthday last week.  

Also trach pads, this pic is showing the difference between the feeding tube pads and the trach pads.  Our feeding tube pads have a zig stitch in the center where the tube is and are smaller.  The trach pads have no zig stitch in the center so there is nothing to rub against the trach stoma and are quite a bit bigger.
